Questions people ask first
How do I connect to a server?
Add a server with its host, port, user and the key or password you use. Kelter keeps these in the device Keychain, behind Face ID if you choose. Every tab is a tmux session on the server, so tmux has to be installed there. Close the app, lose the network, come back tomorrow: the tab reattaches to the same shell, with the same program still running in it.
How do I connect the app to my own conversation server?
You paste a door token. The person who runs that conversation server mints it and hands it over once — one token per device, and Kelter keeps it in the device Keychain. The messages, pictures and reports you exchange with your agents live on that server, the one you run, never on a server of Kelter's. To cut a device off again, the server's owner deletes that token's line and the device is turned away.
What does the Agent pings switch do, and what does it send?
Pings are off until you switch them on for a server. On, Kelter installs a small hook on that server. When the agent finishes, asks a question or wants permission to run a command, the phone gets a notification from that session. What is sent: this device's push token, the server's and session's names, and what the agent last said or asks to run, up to 600 characters. Where it goes: your server → notify.kelter.app, Kelter's relay → Apple's push service → this device. What is kept: nothing — the relay stores no message. The first time on a device, the app shows exactly this on one card before anything leaves the machine.
How do I reply from the lock screen?
Press and hold the notification: Reply, Yes, No. The answer is typed into the agent's session over your own SSH connection, device → server. Kelter's relay never sees a reply.
What can Siri do?
“What did my agent say in Kelter.” “Reply to my agent in Kelter.” “Snooze my agents in Kelter.” With Announce Notifications on, Siri reads a ping on AirPods and in the car. The Siri phrases are English today.
Does my voice leave the phone, and what does “Send logs to Suri” do?
No. Speech is turned into text on the device by Apple's recognition — on some older devices Apple does that on its own servers, which is Apple's path, not ours — and no audio leaves the phone through Kelter. “Send logs to Suri” is off until you switch it on. On, it streams the walk's own log — what it heard as text lengths and states, never audio, never keys — to your own conversation server.
What is Titles only?
With Titles only on for a server, a push says only which session is waiting — never what was said; the agent's message stays on the server until you open the app. It is on from the start for a newly added server. The same switch exists once for the whole device, in Settings › Privacy & Security. A muted session, or a server on snooze, sends nothing at all.
How do I delete everything?
Switch Agent pings off for each server: Kelter removes the hook from the server and reads back that it is gone. Delete each server in the app: its key or password is removed from the Keychain. Ask the owner of your conversation server to revoke this device's door token. Then delete the app: tabs, sessions, hotkeys and settings go with it. The relay has nothing to delete — it stores no message and keeps no account.

Was zuerst gefragt wird
Wie verbinde ich mich mit einem Server?
Leg einen Server an — Host, Port, Benutzername und der Schlüssel oder das Passwort, das du benutzt. Kelter legt das im Schlüsselbund des Geräts ab, auf Wunsch hinter Face ID. Jeder Tab ist eine tmux-Sitzung auf dem Server; tmux muss dort also installiert sein. App schließen, Netz verlieren, morgen wiederkommen: Der Tab hängt sich wieder an dieselbe Shell, in der dasselbe Programm noch läuft.
Wie verbinde ich die App mit meinem eigenen Gesprächsserver?
Du fügst ein Türtoken ein. Wer diesen Gesprächsserver betreibt, stellt es aus und übergibt es dir einmal — ein Token pro Gerät, und Kelter legt es im Schlüsselbund des Geräts ab. Die Nachrichten, Bilder und Berichte, die du dort mit deinen Agenten austauschst, liegen auf diesem Server — dem, den du betreibst — und nie auf einem Server von Kelter. Soll ein Gerät wieder hinaus, löscht der Betreiber die Zeile dieses Tokens, und das Gerät wird abgewiesen.
Was macht der Schalter „Agent pings“, und was schickt er?
Pings sind aus, bis du sie für einen Server einschaltest. Eingeschaltet richtet Kelter dort einen kleinen Hook ein. Wenn der Agent fertig ist, eine Frage stellt oder einen Befehl ausführen will, bekommt das Telefon eine Mitteilung von dieser Sitzung. Was gesendet wird: der Push-Token dieses Geräts, der Name des Servers und der Sitzung, und was der Agent zuletzt gesagt hat oder ausführen will — bis zu 600 Zeichen. Wohin: dein Server → notify.kelter.app, Kelters Relay → Apples Push-Dienst → dieses Gerät. Was behalten wird: nichts — das Relay speichert keine Nachricht. Beim ersten Mal auf einem Gerät zeigt die App genau das auf einer Karte, bevor etwas das Gerät verlässt.
Wie antworte ich vom Sperrbildschirm?
Mitteilung gedrückt halten: Antworten, Ja, Nein. Die Antwort wird über deine eigene SSH-Verbindung in die Sitzung des Agenten getippt, Gerät → Server. Kelters Relay sieht eine Antwort nie.
Was kann Siri?
„What did my agent say in Kelter.“ „Reply to my agent in Kelter.“ „Snooze my agents in Kelter.“ Mit „Mitteilungen ankündigen“ liest Siri einen Ping auf AirPods und im Auto vor. Die Siri-Sätze sind heute englisch.
Verlässt meine Stimme das Telefon, und was macht „Send logs to Suri“?
Nein. Sprache wird auf dem Gerät zu Text — das macht Apples Spracherkennung; auf manchen älteren Geräten erledigt Apple das auf seinen eigenen Servern, also auf Apples Weg, nicht auf unserem — und durch Kelter verlässt kein Ton das Telefon. „Send logs to Suri“ ist aus, bis du es einschaltest. Eingeschaltet schickt es das Protokoll des Spaziergangs selbst — was gehört wurde als Textlängen und Zustände, nie Ton, nie Schlüssel — an deinen eigenen Gesprächsserver.
Was ist „Titles only“?
Mit „Titles only“ für einen Server sagt ein Push nur, welche Sitzung wartet — nie, was gesagt wurde; die Nachricht des Agenten bleibt auf dem Server, bis du die App öffnest. Für einen neu hinzugefügten Server ist der Schalter von Anfang an an. Denselben Schalter gibt es einmal für das ganze Gerät, unter Settings › Privacy & Security. Eine stummgeschaltete Sitzung oder ein Server im Schlummer schickt gar nichts.
Wie lösche ich alles?
Schalte Agent pings für jeden Server aus: Kelter entfernt den Hook vom Server und liest nach, dass er weg ist. Lösche jeden Server in der App: Sein Schlüssel oder Passwort wird aus dem Schlüsselbund entfernt. Bitte den Betreiber deines Gesprächsservers, das Türtoken dieses Geräts zu widerrufen. Dann lösche die App: Tabs, Sitzungen, Hotkeys und Einstellungen gehen mit ihr. Auf dem Relay gibt es nichts zu löschen — es speichert keine Nachricht und führt kein Konto.
